Spend some time working on your swing and learning more about competitive golf. The coaches and players at St. John Paul II Catholic High School are offering a free clinic to area athletes from Catholic schools, 5 th grade through 8 th grade, at the Bandit Golf Course on Thursday, 20 April 2017. We will work on three parts of the game: hitting balls on the range to work on swing and ball contact, chipping and short game, and putting on the putting green.
Golf Clinic for area Catholic school golfers (5th-8th grade) Thursday, 20 April 2017 4:45 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. @ the Bandit Golf Course 6019 FM 725, New Braunfels, TX 78130
The first ten to register will get a free JPII hat! We are limiting the session to 20 athletes, so we can give quality instruction and attention. (Should there be more interest than that, we will run another session.)
Players need to have their own clubs, but we will work with all ability levels – experienced through beginners. We will split the groups up based on those levels, so that instruction can be tailored to the needs of the athlete.
We are hoping that this instruction will help our area Catholic school golfers as they prepare for the AIAL tournaments hosted at Riverside Golf Course in San Antonio, open to 5
th through 8
th grades. The last two tournaments are 24 April and 1 May (entry run by your middle schools).
St. John Paul II Golf This year, the team has had a lot of success. In the fall, the team won a three tournament series run by North East ISD. At four other meets this seaons, the team has had a golfer in the top ten each time, and has posted two first place finishes and one second place finish. Last season, the team reached the state tournament, after a second place finish at district and third place at regionals. We are starting the tradition of quality golf!
