Our belief in athletics is the same as our belief in extra-curriculars: young people should have a non-academic activity that helps form the pursuit of excellence. Just as importantly, all activities in the school will support our core mission, forming young people in Christ. In 2009-2010, the school will offer
the following athletics teams: In our second year, 2010-2011, we will add a football team in the fall. Soccer, baseball, and softball will be added when the numbers dictate. Soccer and baseball are likely in year two. The school is a member of TAPPS (Texas Assoc. of Private and Parochial Schools); in our first year, 2009-2010, athletics teams will play a freshman schedule. In 2010-2011, volleyball and basketball teams will play in a varsity district league. COACHES NEEDED FOR 2010-2011 HEAD FOOTBALL COACH POSITION John Paul II Catholic High School is currently accepting applications for the position of 6-man Head Football Coach. Although prior head coaching experience is preferred, all candidates will be considered. Applicants must be committed to the Christian mission of the school, be active in their local church, and be growing in their faith. Applicants must be willing to work in an Archdiocesan, conservative, Catholic college preparatory high school environment where developing the character of our student athletes is equally important to helping them grow athletically. Applicant must be willing to build the program from the ground up with an eye toward expanding from 6-Man format to 11-Man format within the next three to five years.
